Key command for move cursor to next different value in column in Excel
Problem
Some Excel jockey told me how to do this once, but I've forgotten. Basically I have a huge list sorted by a STATUS column. I'd like to press the down key and go to the next changed value in the column, so I can easily navigate all statuses. I know there's a certain key command do this. Thanks!

1 Fix
Navigate to Next Different Value in Excel STATUS Column
Excel does not have a built-in shortcut to directly jump to the next different value in a column. However, using a combination of keyboard shortcuts and the 'Go To Special' feature can help achieve this functionality.

- 1
Select the STATUS Column
Click on the header of the STATUS column to select the entire column. This ensures that the subsequent commands apply specifically to this column.
- 2
Open the Go To Special Dialog
Press 'F5' to open the 'Go To' dialog, then click on the 'Special' button. This will allow you to select specific types of cells.
- 3
Select Constants or Formulas
In the 'Go To Special' dialog, choose either 'Constants' or 'Formulas' depending on your data type. This will highlight all unique values in the selected column.
- 4
Navigate Through Unique Values
After the unique values are highlighted, press 'Enter' to jump to the first different value. You can then use the 'Ctrl + Down Arrow' shortcut to navigate to the next different value in the column.
- 5
Repeat Navigation
Continue pressing 'Ctrl + Down Arrow' to navigate through the different values in the STATUS column until you reach the end of the list.
Validation
To confirm the fix worked, ensure that pressing 'Ctrl + Down Arrow' moves the cursor to the next different value in the STATUS column. Verify that the highlighted cells correspond to the unique statuses in the column.
