1. Information We Collect

Account data: When you sign in via GitHub OAuth, we receive your GitHub username, email address, and profile picture.

Usage data: We log API requests (endpoint, timestamp, IP address) for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Content you submit: Fixes, verifications, and notes you submit are stored in our database and may be publicly visible.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store credit card numbers. Paddle shares billing details (name, email, country) with us for subscription management.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Manage your account and subscription
  • Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
  • Send transactional emails (verification, billing notifications)
  • Analyze aggregate usage to improve search quality

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on servers in the United States (Neon PostgreSQL, Upstash Redis). By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

4. Third-Party Services

  • GitHub OAuth — authentication
  • Paddle — payment processing and tax compliance
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Upstash — Redis caching
  • Netlify — application hosting
  • OpenAI — semantic search embeddings (query text only, not stored by OpenAI)

5. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication (NextAuth.js). No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. Account deletion removes your profile and API keys. Publicly submitted content (fixes, verifications) may be retained in anonymized form to preserve database integrity.

7. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained for 90 days. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
