What are the disadvantages (if any) of doing a Quick Format when repartitioning a drive?

In Windows 7 (Professional) I'm repartitioning some drives and I see there's a checkbox for "quick format" (I assume if you don't check it then it does a not-so-quick format). With a brand new hard drive, what are the downsides of doing the quick format?
