Is there a way to xcopy just changed or new files?

I am trying to deploy a website from my desktop to my webserver and so right now I am doing this: My desktop is a Windows XP machine, and I need to copy to a Windows Server 2008 machine, but this copies everything and the whole site is very large and it takes a really long time to finish copying. Is there a way to specifically just copy new or updated files? I see you can pass in a changed-since date, but I wanted to see if there is a simpler way to compare against the destination file... Also, I am open to using anything outside of xcopy that can do the job as well...

Should I keep my swap file on an SSD drive?

I'm considering getting an SSD drive to run as the primary OS partition. As I understand, this should provide a substantial improvement in performance. My question is this: Should I leave the swap file on that drive? The swap partition will be largely random seeks and so should benefit from the speed. On the other hand, it will be constantly written to which will wear out the drive faster.

Why is my USB mouse disconnecting and reconnecting randomly and often?

My mouse will reconnect/disconnect (will even hear the sounds from Windows), and the light on the bottom of the mouse will turn off/turn on as it starts working again. It really sucks to be playing a game (and happens on desktop as well) for the mouse to just die out for a few seconds and come back. Sometimes it will not happen for days and other times it will do it two or more times within 15 seconds. I tried two different wired mice, tried multiple USB ports (on the front of the computer, back of the computer, used a USB hub and plugged in a card that connects to the USB connectors on the motherboard and adds a few USB ports to the back of the computer, and I also bought a USB 2.0 PCI card and that did not help). Nothing else seems to reconnect like this, my USB keyboard has never once cut out like the mouse does and neither have any of the other devices I have connected (webcam, USB hub, various devices sometimes connected through USB cables, and IR receiver for windows Media Cente…

How do you view the bottom of really tall cells in Excel?

When there are very tall cells in Microsoft Excel, trying to scroll via mouse or even via scrollbar (clicking on "<-" "->" pointers) just jumps below to the next cell, hiding the bottom content of the large cell in question. Is there an option to have Excel scroll smoothly? So far I found only one way - click middle button on mouse - and scroll smoothly by moving mouse aside.

Is there a way to get the complete zone file for a domain without contacting its host?

I know that it's probably (no longer) possible because of abuse, but I want to check nonetheless. Is there a way for me to obtain the company zone file for a domain myself, without having to contact the people who host the DNS for that domain? Is there a way to get the complete zone file for a domain, without getting it from the company that hosts the DNS for that specific domain?

Can the telnet or netcat clients communicate over SSL?

I would like to test client connections with IMAP over SSL, HTTPS, and other secure text-based Internet protocols over SSL/TLS, the same way I would using telnet or netcat if they were not tunneled over a secure protocol. Is there a way to get telnet or netcat to go through SSL/TLS such as with a pipe or alternate program?

Clear terminal using keyboard shortcut

I was curious if there is a way to clear the terminal buffer/output through some keyboard shortcut. I am using Ubuntu. I am aware that Ctrl + L clears the terminal, but you can still scroll back to see the old text. I am looking for something similar to what command does. On Mac apple + k seems to do the trick.

How to shrink the Remote Desktop Connection Bar in Windows?

Ever since FireFox 4, page tabs have been moved to the top of the window. This gets pretty irritating when surfing the net through a remote desktop session. Often when I want to switch tabs, if I accidentally move my mouse a little to much to the top, I get the remote desktop connection bar blocking the tabs instead, then I'd have to wait a few frustrating seconds before it disappears again. So, are there any methods to shrink or shorten the remote desktop connection bar or delay the appearance of it?

How would I remap Mac CMD to CTRL keys in Remote Desktop Connection for Mac application?

I sometimes have to use Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection for Mac for remote access to a Windows 7 machine from an iMac running MacOS X 10.6.6 (Snow Leopard). Making the mental switch to use the Control key CTRL in place of the Command key CMD while in the Remote Desktop window (e.g. CTRL-C to copy instead of CMD-C) is a pain and a source of constant errors. I would like to be able to map the CMD key to output a CTRL key on my Mac, but only when accessing the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection for Mac application. Remote Desktop Connection lets you map a number of other keys via its Preferences . . . but not the CMD key. I.e. in any other Mac application, CMD would act like CMD. However, in Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection for Mac, CMD would act like CTRL.

Why is the CPU usage reported by top in Linux over 100%?

I've seen the CPU usage go over 100%. How is this possible? Is it because I have four CPU cores, so 100% isn't really the max? Also, when a program does this, what else can I do in top besides using the command?
