Get RSS feed from iTunes podcast links
I'm using Gnome's Rhythmbox to listen to Podcasts. Some Podcasts don't provide an rss feed for downloading the episodes but only a link for iTunes. Now I'd like to download them via a "normal" RSS reader/podfetcher. How can I accomplish this?
Can Mozilla Thunderbird show sent replies in threaded view?
I would like for Thunderbird to show replies to threaded messages in with the received messages. Is this possible, even with an extension? The desired behavior would be something like how Zimbra's threaded email view works.
How to get vertical split of terminal in Mac to execute different actions?
Every once in a while I see people using what looks like terminal in their Mac, except that in what seems to be one window they have a vertical 'split.' On one side of the split, they have emacs or something, and in the other they have something else. How can I have two independent things happening at once in the same terminal window, divided by a vertical split? It looks a lot like split pane, but split pane is a horizontal split and the actions are mirrored in the panes.
Stop PDFs from displaying inside Google Chrome
When I click on a PDF link in Chrome, it opens automatically inside the browser window. How can I get it to download instead and open with an external viewer? Update: I implemented djhowell's solution but Chrome still seems to be handling PDF files differently from regular files. When I click a PDF link it opens in Adobe Reader, but normally files download to a folder first. I also find it weird that this is controlled by Reader and not Chrome. Are there not any file-type controls in Chrome anywhere?
Horizontal scrolling shortcut in Windows
In Os X, I can hold Shift while using the scroll wheel on the mouse to scroll horizontally instead of vertically. Is there a way to do something similar in Windows?
Closing Notepad++ tabs on closing application

How to check all timestamps of a file?

Tell Thunderbird not to truncate or wrap lines when sending email
When I compose and send an email (I always write plain-text emails) in Thunderbird, it always truncates my sentences and adds line breaks in the middle of my sentences. How do I turn this feature off? It is quite annoying to me. For instance, when I send people long URLs, the URL gets cut in the middle because of the automatic line breaks. I am using the latest Thunderbird 9 for Mac OS X
What does wwws mean?
I've seen a couple of sites that use wwws in their domain, for example: wwws.mint.com and wwws.whitehouse.gov. I'm sure it has something to do with an extra layer of security. What does it mean and what is it used for? Why do only a handful of sites use it?
How to prevent a command in the zshell from being saved into history?
In Bash I know putting a space before a command prevents it from being kept in the history, what is the equivalent for the zshell?
Can you run a machine emulator (Bochs) inside a virtual machine?
Is it possible to, say, run VirtualBox on Windows 7 with a Linux guest, and inside that Linux machine run Bochs? The reason is that I'm interested in starting OS development, and I've found that all the tutorials and stuff are much easier to follow on *nix machines. I tried using Cygwin, but I think it's adding another layer of complexity and not necessarily making things easier.
How can I view more of my history in Screen on Linux?
I was running scripts overnight from the command line (inside Screen on a Linux EC2 instance) and some errors that I was not tracking occurred. I want to "scroll up" or view more of the history in Screen, but I cannot seem to find any commands that will work. I need to see the onscreen output "further up" than I can on my current screen. CTRL + a is supposed to put me into scroll mode inside Screen, but it's not working.
How much time until an unused hard drive loses its data?
Do you guys know how much time needs to pass until the data stored on a hard drive starts to degrade? To keep the data intact for long periods of time, I heard you need to periodically rewrite it on the hard drive, like every 5 years or so. Is it true?
How do I pass command line arguments to Dock items?
I'm attempting to follow the instructions for pinning startup tabs in Chrome. On OS X how do I add command line arguments to items that persist in my dock?

There's always that pesky cylinder thing on every cable I have. What is it? And more importantly, why don't Apple's products have them?

Unfortunately, only can create/delete files/directories on the root filesystem of . For other users to perform file/io on this volume, needs to create a directory and the permissions to others. How to migrate Notepad++ settings?
I am trying to portabilize every program I use if possible, and Notepad++ is on the list. The only problem is that I've had a native installation until now so that I'm not totally sure which settings files need to be moved to the portable directory. Surely there's a function tucked away somewhere in NPP exactly for this purpose, or some plugin out there? I mean the developers have literally thought of everything else, yet this is the one thing I cannot find specifically anywhere in the NPP wiki or otherwise, and I don't want to miss an important file. Here is the closest I've gotten: Notepad++'s configuration files and Where are all the files? Should I just copy every configuration file listed on the first link?
